However they are all based on a diet myth - "If you work a specific area of your body, you will burn fat from that region". This is called "spot reduction" and is completely incorrect!

  • When you do exercise your body burns fat from its own preferential areas.
  • When doing muscle exercises you use quick energy which comes from carbs and not fat.

Everyone has abs - you just can't see them if you have a layer of fat over your stomach. You can use ab exercise machines all you like, but you won't get a flat stomach that way. Be sure that the fit looking models advertising these devices do NOT use them to get their results.

The way to lose the fat off your stomach area is to do plenty of cardiovascular exercise. It is an extremely stubborn area and following the diet advice in this section will help considerably.
